A Sampling of Recent Student-Organized Events

  • CUNY-wide student film festival (CUFF) held at Macaulay. Over 70 films submitted and over 100 attended the final screenings. Generous sponsorship received from HBO and the Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre, and Broadcasting, and the hardwork of Daniel Cowen '11 (Hunter), Jaimie Stettin '11 (Hunter) and CUFF team allowed it to happen.
  • Macaulay hosts first-ever Arts Night. With stage performances, film, visuals arts, crafts all on display, Macaulay's most creative raised the bar. Over 290 attended and enjoyed the celebration of creativity. Tyler Alterman '12 (Hunter), Mary Williams '12 (Hunter). and the Arts Night Curators spearheaded the efforts. Click here to see photos.

  • The "DaZe of Doom" Film Series continues on December 1, with Children of Men at 7pm in the Screening Room at Macaulay Honors College.
  • Join Danzy Senna for a reading and conversation, presented by the Sidney Harman Writer-in-Residence Program on December 1, 6pm. Danzy Senna's most recent book Where Did You Sleep Last Night? is a compelling personal history that traces her biracial roots: her white blue-blood mother's family (the Howes of Boston) and her black activist father's family, the Sennas. Ms. Senna is also the author of Caucasia and Symptomatic. Professor Bridgett Davis will introduce Ms. Senna. A reception will follow the talk. Check this week's Macaulay Monday for details.
  • Professor Joseph P. Viteritti of Hunter College seeks a student to conduct bibliographical research for an article he is writing: "School Choice and Market Failure." The article addresses problems that arise in applying economic market theory to education. The ideal candidate will specialize in public policy, with a serious focus on education and interests in economic and political theory. Click here for more information.
